The Barns
We have three barns on the property, totaling 42 stalls. The main barn is a spacious, airy barn attached to the covered arena. This barn features 3 tack rooms, an office/lounge, wash and grooming stalls, restrooms, and laundry facilities. Two of the tack rooms are strictly for boarders while the third holds all the lesson gear.
The office and lounge is equipped with temperature control and a large window for viewing the action in the arena. There is also a refrigerator for boarder use. The wash stall is equipped with hot and cold water, while the grooming stall has heat lamps and a vacuum for horses. The laundry facilities are also for boarder use.
The other two barns are fully renovated tobacco barns, one is located near the cross country jumps and trail access while the other is located next to the outdoor arena. Both are equipped with tack rooms, and the larger of the two is equipped with restrooms and wash racks.
Riding Amenities
West Wind has riding amenities for all types of riders. The main barn is attached to a 244'x110' covered, lighted arena. Also available to riders is an outdoor arena and permanent 50' round pen. If you want to get out of the arena, we have beautiful acreage to explore, including a pond and small streams, natural and free standing cross country obstacles, and access to the neighbor's 200 acres of cow fields.
Amenities for the Horses
It's important that our clients have plenty of creature comforts in and around the barn, but it's equally important that their hard working partners are given the same luxuries. When stalled, horses are provided with fans and large matted stalls with windows and open stall front options.
The property has several private private grass lots and large, group turnout fields to accommodate a variety of turn out needs. All of the larger fields are equipped with large, 3-sided shelters and automatic waterers.
We offer two different grain options to cater to both easy and hard keepers. For harder keepers and performance horses we offer Hallway Fibrenergy, which is a super premium, fully fortified, textured “non-heating” feed. Our other option is Stamm 30® which is a highly concentrated source of proteins, vitamins and minerals, great for easy keepers.
